Level 3 Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness (CTPSaP)

The SfJ Awards and NaCTSO Level 3 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness (CTPSaP) is designed for those with strategic, operational or supervisory responsibilities for security, resilience and preparedness. It equips delegates with the knowledge and skills to assess risks, implement proportionate protective security measures, develop preparedness plans and contribute effectively to incident response and recovery activities.

Description

Designed for those responsible for workplace protective security, preparedness and organisational resilience, the SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness (CTPSaP) equips learners with the practical knowledge and capability to assess risk, strengthen preparedness and lead an effective organisational response.

Developed by SFJAwards in partnership with the National Counter-Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), it is the only qualification endorsed by Counter-Terrorism Policing (CTP). Skills for Justice Training delivers the qualification through expert practitioners with decades of operational experience.

Reflecting the statutory guidance supporting the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 (also referred to as Martyn’s Law), the qualification develops the advanced capability needed to strengthen protective security in line with role and operating environment.

The Level 3 CTPSaP qualification develops learners’ understanding of how terrorist attacks are planned and carried out, and how to assess and respond to the risks they present. It explores how counter-terrorism threat assessments are interpreted, and how appropriate mitigation strategies can be identified and applied in practice.

Learners will also build the capability to contribute to counter-terrorism risk assessment and preparedness planning – aligned with national counter-terrorism good practice – while understanding the limits of their role and when to seek advice or support from protective security specialists.
